What makes this better than a q tip, or small camel hair brush?

Does it like... hold pollen and you squeeze it out? Or is it strictly a qtip on a stick? I can't really find any information on them besides like 3 pictures...
... and the mystery box's "a years supply of pollen pens". how many pens is that? Is it a 5 pack of washable reusable pens? Maybe, doesn't say... I'll be surprised if the ebay listing stays up mentioning $250 worth of seeds included... these ain't rare pepper seeds... Though I've bought Cube LC off ebay before so who knows.
