Sorry..my son knocked the lap-top straight out of commission when he got here so he could get the work done.

I got some good news and some bad news...:no:

He Thinks he has the virus sorted after some root scans..or something...
Bad news...
my lap-top is Terminal..
Only got one working port..that is why the external storage was giving me probs..
my photo loading port is screwed..that is why I couldn't get the photos loaded.

I'm using the other camera..that I can load by wire..
but the photo quality is Crap compared to my normal one.

It solved the pressie dilema though...I'm not getting an ipad...
I'll be looking at a replacement lap-top.

It will probably be a couple of weeks..so I'll be limping along until I do.

Going to see what you have all been up to...
then I'll catch up with me mails after that......:thumbs:

After he had run the scans as priority I asked him to check the photos and ports for me.
He says for the money it will cost to correct..it is not worth doing.

Got my messages swithched off too.
MSN blocked it for the virus spamming from my addy.

We have left that switched off too...so I don't have mail either....:no:

Typical... moore's law states that the capcity of a computr chip will double evry 18 months... and has held true since 1969... so basically any computer over a year old... is a dinosaur.

Yeah..son says if you buy one off the self...it is already out of date.

They have some good deals on in the UK ATM..
but it means I will probably have to wait until someone returns to the UK.
Bought a spanish one last time but the keyboard/functions are all different..and although you can change the language..I Think it causes conflicts..
so I'll get a UK one.

I thought my external storage was dead..and my camera..
so at least I know what it is now.
Got all my photos..info etc backed up while he was here..
so it should just be a question of a straight swap over once I get it..
