Solved in one. It is on it's first testing/calibration run. The temperature is controlled to a band of about 1.2C, which is about as good as it gets. I am still playing with the way to add humidity. So far, the setup is a bit dry, it can't reach into the 50%'s, but fixing that is just a matter of adding a couple more small sources. I want to figure out what is needed to allow reaching the target RH of ~57% very slowly. That will be the maximum humidity setup I will need. Early in the dry, the bud will provide lots, but at equilibrium, I will still need to stabilze for the entire cure, and it would be nice to do that without rapid dehumidification cycles.

I am hoping that it will handle my entire crop. There are 11 screened trays of 18"x20", so I suspect I will be ok.

First I thought it was another grow drobe but then realized it was probably something different like cannatrol. How easy and affordable is it to make?

Top drip system diy for around $8/container. Got 4 small pumps for $20 and cheap halo rings were around $12 for 4

It is a project, but not difficult for someone with basic woodworking tools and experience. I think I am into it for something like ~$300 CDN including the inkbird controller. I will post more about the design once I have it all sorted. Right now, the priority is to get it ready for my imminent crop.

Don't get me wrong, this thing is not, as far as I can tell, the complete equivalent of the Cannatrol. It does not have the ability to process at colder temperatures than the environment, and it will only work if the environment is lower RH than what is needed in the unit. Lower RH is no biggie with a small room and dehumidifier, but in warmer conditions, a warmer process temperature would have to be used unless AC was available. Neither of those limitations bother me because my drying environment is always drier, and can be easily made cooler than needed.

Bottom line is that as long as the RH control is good, and preliminary tests suggest it is, this thing should be able to accurately achieve .57 water activity in my entire crop in a single go. No bags, no burping, no overdrying, etc. etc.

My wife figured I was nuts before this DIY project, now she is completely convinced.

SIP Tote. All it takes is a couple $6 totes, some pvc and a recycled plastic container. Fill top with potting mix (sunshine mix #4), fill the res with nutrient solution once a week.
