Tap water in a humidifier?

Does boiling your water beforehand help with this? I had no idea and just got a ultrasonic one.

Boiling will do nada to the main issue which is the dust left to settle over everything after the mist evaporates. It is just dust, so I would not worry too much about it. However, if the humidifier you have craps out, I would get an evaporative one as a replacement.

Have you seen any effect on growth or any burns because of it? I've not used it yet, but if it negatively impacts anything I'd be worried.

No. It's fine to use.

No. Boiling it just means you 'll have sterilized water and less of it. The minerals will still be there (mostly). I know man - it's a pain.
