Cheers @trailanimal ... before crushing..I used to put bud into an ordinary metal kitchen sieve over a dinner tray... and just rub the bud through it....but the repetitive movement sets my nerve damage pinging....

Poor little buggers look shrunken from the continuous wind....they are well hydrated...and..high wind acts like reved transpiration for me...so they will be popping balls soon.
I'm tempted to make the cross... ... personally..at this stage I can't see one white male... maybe a couple of white females.
If I make an early cross it tends to keep the bud small...but winter grows are not about bud.

If I make the cross with mixed males...and they colour up...it gives me a chance to isolate mother colour...and select seed from the best/most interesting colour traits........


I just need to move the DD pot out of the firing line.......easy task when they are all in one pot...and the pot has handles......

I'm going to have to check the Chinese supermarket...I see them on Amazon from about 15 euros....but there is a big variance on hole size....
I can take a guess..but I'd rather have me fingers in one so I can guage it better... bigger it better to get rid of the chuff...but too big and the seed will go through too...

Factor in, with all the breeding there will be different seed sizes.

I was looking at diy plans for zig zag and air column seed separators, and I actualy felt nostalgic for a card and the White Album.

Any way we look at it you still have to break up the buds and that's the bulk of the work.

Not if you over dry and crush them @VitaMan ... ... just load the jar and gently crush...saves all the buggering about....snip..snip..snip...

The simple cross has been moved out...to keep her out of the firing line....... she's actually impressing me....

Some fine broad heads there.. especially for our conditions ATM....

Bearing in mind this was just a test germ in old compo...I got a few goodies... and a couple of skems... even for fun you don't breed the skems..
So I plucked them the other day...

And instantly regretted it......coz although the top one was short she had a lovely tufty growth pattern..she was fighting back..but hey ho...such is life..

The one male in them is still giving me mixed signals...that stretch/body balance says Different... even considering sex stretch...
But..it also showed the light centre that I'm saying belongs with Rainbow Dragon......time will tell..

Realistically..I don't even have to worry about it now.....if I mass pollenated now... everything I put In... will still be available in the next generation.... #JahBless the Journey...

Let's talk about sex...






Males are like teenage boys.... ..as soon as their balls Drop you are in Trouble.......

When they first appear they are tight to the node...then they start to develop stalks and Drop away from the tight bunch.
This is the danger point.. somewhere in the next 4 days they will pollenated.....

Fortunately..it is very easy to hold them back by simply rolling all the dropping balls off....and it will retard it for days while the girls mature a bit..

I've had been ball rolling for a few days...but hey..seeing the girls bumping and grinding on them....Sheesh....

Just turn up the music and let them do what comes natural.....


(Is it only us oldies that hear the vinyl record click as the music starts...?.....)

Talking about letting them do what comes natural.....I'm a great believer.. Except when it comes to pollenation.

Naturally I'd say a male has a 10-12 day pollen Window.

If you let them do that you really screw up your seed collection..your available seed will have a 10-12 day difference in maturity...that is no good what so ever....

Make a pollenation Rule...no more than 24-48 hour exposure to males.

That way All of your seed harvest will be ripe in a 24-48 hour window..

Simple things make a big difference...
