Hello folks a week on from the transplant and the switch to biotabs the old growth is looking abit rough but that's to be expected new growth is looking good just starting to pick up the pace
all the plants were topped at the 4th node I may do a double topping on some if it suits their growth structures should be another 4 week of veg maybe more we will see how it all goes

Auto Mac#1 & Auto Oh my gushers Day84 Harvest
Hello folks end of the line for the autos grow decided to just harvest everything on the one day one of the mac#1s definitely needed another week or two but after seeing how well the Oh my gushers did i said fugg it less of a headache trying to dry two different batches
First plant is the. Smaller oh my gushers she is fat and dense really filled out at the end was really worrying about mold but she aced it there was a awesome cherry scent to her when harvesting hopefully it stays after the dry

The next girl is the other oh my gushers much taller stucture with chucky pine cone buds she is much more sour gassy I'm sure that comes from the OG lines she comes from

The mac#1 girls were great growers but didn't get to their full potential slow start ph issues etc will definitely give them another go one with smaller buds was a faster pheno with a interesting smell to her almost like paint or maybe leather different never had anything like that before

Overall was a success in my books the terra aquatica Pro organic line is definitely worth a try for anyone on a budget I used four bottles in total ( there is more to add but not essential) it's very concentrated so it lasts quite a long time I would say its as good as the shogun fertilisers i was using smell taste yield is all there

Sweet Seeds, hmmmm... I'd like your observations on them with your grows in recent years. In a nut shell, it seems our beloved brand has been slipping as of late- 😬 I have heard a lot of feedback from other growers the last 4-5 years, talking long time Sweet growers here, and it isn't good at all...
Several of their cultivars have been showing genuinely inferior pheno's and/or ridiculous variation (horrible stability), even the olde guard like KillerKush, Green Poison (whatever format too BTW), Ice Cool (NYSD), some of the auto's too, all have been way off the mark. Hermies, it's come up but it's hard to be sure if that was a grow issue or a genetic one, but still...
I have loved Sweet for ages, but after getting burned by awful pheno's with the last ones I've grown, I've stayed away. Trust is lost, sad to say...😔
Something has changed with them, right around the time the rep's ghosted on us here... if that's related, I dunno but this is the raw feedback I've seen and experienced...:shrug:
The newer stuff, who knows so far at least..

How did the smoke turn out on the SMZkit's?

hard choice i really like both :woohoo:but if i had to choose it would be candy fruit over gas buuuut its a really hard decision haha

thanks for the rep and kind words the oh my gushers and mac#1 are from dutch passion first time for the mac#1 need to give her another run to do her justice but the oh my gushers iv grown out around 10 now i think she is a winner for me few differnt phenos all pretty good either sweet candy fruits or sour gas tall ones tend to be gassy short chunky ones tend to lean fruit all have good affect iv taken some at day 70 and they hit the spot so these day 84 girls should be killer i hope anyways
what a shame to hear sweet is letting things slip iv not grown out too much SS stuff just a few packs and not that reccently to be honest
but my experiance with SMZKIT would echo what your saying 4 plants 4 phenos all differnt they had sacks show in week 3 or 4 plucked them all off so didnt drop too much pollen one or two seeds is all i found i figured it was somthing i did and certainly may have been haha
but i definitly wasnt too impresed with the final product lemon peel terps wouldnt be racing back to try it again :shrug:

iv yet to grow anything i would call homogeneous always get one or two who do their own thing
my eye is on humbolt seed companys blueberry muffin i keep hearing great things about it syntetic blueberry terps also supose to be very similar to eachother and fast finishing sounds like a winner to me

Well, we know seeds are a gamble, pheno's even from fems have undergone some genetic remixing...but if you started out with wide pheno spreads, that's where it'll stay until it's worked deeper. All these market-popular cultivars du-jour are coming out fast to keep up with what's temporarily "hot", so I'm not sanguine about how well they have been worked...
Letting old guard stuff become shoddy is just plain fuck-all giving :redcard: LOL

I wonder... @Antonio_DutchPassion - I don't want to put you on the spot here, but with your eyes and ears in the industry, has there been some sort of change with Sweet? Bought out, new corporate shifts/fuckery affecting the breeding program, or something like this? PM if you want to, just that me and a whole group of others would like to know what the hell is going on with them these days...Or were we all just bad luck burned?

What was meh about them? The aroma sounds wonderful. I've tried to get lemon peel aroma a few times with other known-lemony crosses, but got pheno-burned every time...:cuss:
I'm guessing the potency and/or high were below the bar...?

HSCo has a great rep' in general :thumbsup:... I wanted to try their Freakshow, but it sold out fast and no restock that I managed to catch. Then last year I saw, at ACE, Frosty's Purple Freak, but missed that too :doh:... This year I contacted ACE and was referred to Mandala/Khalifa and scored both photo and auto formats- :yay:....the fern-leaf morphology is a real trip!
 
Well, I can't speak for what is really going on at a company that I don't belong to/have close ties with, but what I can say is this, it's not the first time I hear this about declining quality with beans from them. Either stability issues and bigger pheno differences is something I've been hearing for quite some time and on several other fora as well. However, in general I personally still hold them in quite high regards.

What I also know is that when the things happened with Dinafem in Spain some years ago (owners were caught by the government, business closed, big law suit etc.) some (or most) of the Spanish producers changed tactics/size of grow ops or even went abroad (Colombia for example) to produce their weed/seeds. This might explain the change in seeds? Just thinking out loud here and what might sound logical, for a real answer I'm obviously not the right person to speak to.

Khalifa makes some strange/unique genetics indeed!
