I've been wanting to figure out how to keep a beehive meself. At a farm I visited in NH the hive was indoors with one side made of glass, with a 2" PVC pipe through the wall of the barn so the bees could get in & out. It was something like this but bigger:

If seen it by my friend. He sell honey Met candel and cosmetics. He got a bee hive like that one in the picture to show school classes how bees life and work.

Did you decarboxylate the trim before you added it to the honey? Seeing as honey looses all it's beneficial properties when heated.
