I've been wanting to figure out how to keep a beehive meself. At a farm I visited in NH the hive was indoors with one side made of glass, with a 2" PVC pipe through the wall of the barn so the bees could get in & out. It was something like this but bigger:

If seen it by my friend. He sell honey Met candel and cosmetics. He got a bee hive like that one in the picture to show school classes how bees life and work.
