In my organic soil grow I've been informed that in late flower with rootbound containers it's better to water stress them a little bit.

Let them dry out more between waterings to increase resin and trichome production.

I'm also running a UVB light for a couple hours during the light cycle for the same reasons.

Are these myths or are these facts?

If you have to ask, if after years of growing it's not common knowledge about why, when and how to do this water stressing, it's probably not something you should do!

Some types of stress at the right time(?) are associated with increased resin production. But purposely water deprivation stressing plants already water uptake-stressed (rootbound) does not seem appropriate. Until you get good confirmation this would helpful, it seems best avoided.

You can stress them other ways, such as by increasing or decreasing light, temperature, nutrients, do defoliation, high-stress training (topping, fimming, etc.), add known stressor supplements such as chondroitin and salicylic acid (Bud Factor X), ), etc.
