Distances are a construct of our realm, portals exist as do Stargates. Most of what you see NASA put out is unfortunately all fake space, alongside our Heliocentric model. It's a shame Kepler never understood how to use the instruments of Tycho Brahe.
A working model which corresponds and matches to all previous astrological dates is an interesting play with.

welcome to the discussion. there is more than one way to move through spacetime. just because we have been told "no Way" does not make it true. look at Galileo, when he suggested that the Earth was not the center of the solar system. he was locked up and almost beheaded. our Physics could be anywhere from 100 to 10,000 years behind. it's like flying a fleet of supersonic jets over the civil war.
nobody would have a clue what they were. and they would scare the hell out of both sides. IT is all relative.

"They say" it's not good to live in the past. WTF doe's that mean? when the past is better than the future. If i could go back to 1965, not knowing what i know now. i would be back there in a flash!!
