Why-Triploid-Cannabis-Seeds-Are-the-Smartest-Grow-Upgrade-Blog.jpg

Cannabis genetics just levelled up — and Triploid Cannabis Seeds are leading the charge.

In our latest blog, we break down what triploid seeds are, why growers are switching to them, and how they deliver stronger plants, bigger yields, louder terpenes, and zero seeds — even in pollen-heavy environments.

We also reveal brand-new triploid cannabis seeds now landing at The Vault from Terp Farmz and Growers Choice Seeds, including terp-heavy exotics and flavour-forward powerhouses built for modern growers.

If you care about:

Smarter genetics

Cleaner, seed-free harvests

Next-gen flavour and consistency

This is one you don’t want to miss.

Plus, there’s a limited-time discount on all new triploid seeds inside the post — available only until the end of January.

Read the full breakdown and see why triploid genetics are changing the game.

The interesting thing about triploid genetics is that they can't be duplicated or crossed. Understandable from the breeders viewpoint at least, and I would wager, a deliberate design objective. It must be incredibly frustrating to do the huge amount of work developing strains and then have others simply rename them and sell them with next to zero work.

This reminds me of Terminator seeds. They grow, but can't reproduce.

I've had a few triploids as mutation, not as polyploid x diploid the way GC is doing it. I've noticed that they all eventually go to asymetrical nodes after 5-6 nodes growth.

This means you can still cut clones, but they won't have the triploid.

What happens if reversal spray is used on a triploid? I've hit them with pollen in the past with zero success, can they produce viable pollen?

I'd be more interested in auto triploids, because those are already single use seeds to my logic.

Big fan of Grower's Choice NL. Their seeds have always been excellent, shipped within a day with tracking. I did have order get snagged in customs once, but they were replaced.

They often run specials. I don't buy their seeds unless it's BOGO.

Presuming triploid seeds offer considerable benefits, when will we have auto seeds available for purchase from credible/established sources?

Are any major companies (Dutch Passion, Sweet, Fast Buds, Mephisto, etc.) and/or smaller boutique sources working on these (Who?). Or have/will these companies ignore this technology, such as have they determined it simply doesn't work at scale or otherwise is not commercially viable, infringes existing patents (seems very possible), there are problems with quality control, or some other good reason?

I was thinking about to start breeding for triploid seeds but I wouldn't do it. It was longer in my mind , and I think it was breeder steve I talked with , about triploids seeds. He offered the breeding technique I think it's now 2 or 3 years ago.
I was asking myself and I think the chance to make your own seeds is one of the big points why we got so much different cultivars nowadays.
In my area their are nearly no hemp fields so outdoors I don't need it.
Indoors I use my male room so I don't need that kind of seeds indoors too.

But I think I will order some seeds in the near future to give them a try and see how they act in my male room.

At https://humboldtseedcompany.com/og-triploid-auto/, the company claims average (not best case) 30%-34% THC. I've seem similar percentage claims by growers and dispensaries (which many say often cheat) and seed companies.

Is this for real, attainable, or a by-product of funky testing methods? This seems to be about the same concentration as kief or other simply concentrated trichomes. If allow another 10% for other terpenes/essential oils, non-THC cannabinoids and also unavoidably some moisture bound in the buds, this means the buds are about 50% or maybe more liquid! And then there still would be a fair amount of stuff within the buds (the dead plant cells) - cellulose (bud structure; cell walls and fibrils), DNA, proteins, chloroplasts/organelles, chlorophyll/pigments, misc. salts, ATP, etc. [I just saw in another posting someone citing that <15% bud moisture after drying is good for pressing, suggesting even higher percentage water in buds than I assumed].

What do actual 34% buds look like? The seed co. and dispensary online pictures for strains claiming over 20% to me look all much the same, in terms that they are not oozing/slimed/goop-covered with THC/congealed trichomes.

They do indeed, they also have another 3 Feminised Triploid strains also, once we have supply for all the available packs we will get an order in and add them to the website.

100% they are definitely not for everyone, but there are a lot of people trying them out.

If you do make a purchase please let us know your results and honest feedback :)
