Winter heat

I'm trying to find a heat source for the upcoming winter. I really like the idea of a greenhouse tube heater, but it seems they are not available in the USA without dropping a crazy amount shipping.

I really don't want a oil heater.

I live where it snows a lot and is cold. But I grow inside a tent in my basement so the lights keep it perfect temp in the tent. How big of an area are you trying to heat?

2'x4' tent 5' tall. I'm running 2 auto cobs which doesn't put out a lot of heat. I do have a mars ts1000 on stand by which would a ton of heat but uses a lot of power @150 watts. I would like another source of heat.

I get a fair amount of snow here as well. My tent is in a garage that is not insulated.

I myself would throw the ts1000 in it. Allot of heaters are like 350 to 1000 watts. I'd rather use 150 watts only and add more light at the same time but that's just me. I never used a heater in a grow tent. I used them b4 I had tents in the basement cuz it gets cooler down there in winter.

This is what I use, a Honewell heatbud, controlled by an inkbird temp controller:

It is a bit low power, but it does the job in my 2x4. You might need a bit more power if you are in a tent, I am in a plywood growdrobe which might not lose heat as quickly as a tent.

Consider putting your exhaust fan on a thermostat switch so you are not constantly pushing your heat out of the tent. This should be able to work together with any heater you use. For example, the heater shuts off at 79˚F and the fan thermostat comes on at 80˚F.

I have the ac infinity cloudline exhaust with a thermostat controller for humidity and temps. I'm just going to have to insulate the crop out of it and maybe use a tube heater or something.

Sounds like you're moving in the right direction by trying to sustain the heat you gain. Your fan is top notch, you've got good lights...now a lil insulation for your tent, you're all good.

Hey bro, just stumbling through posts and thought I’d share... I too have the AC infinity cloud line, 6” model, comes with a digital controller and probe, does yours?
The smart mode is great. Set fan to max (6 bar) on on mode, then go to smart mode and set desired temp you don’t want to go over. For every 2c it goes down it drops a fan level. I have other problems right now, quite the opposite, too much heat haha. But maybe that will help you out.
During the cold I used a ceramic fan heater on an ink bird controller, was very nervous about it but worked out great. I was in a 2x4.
@Olderfart , are you by chance Archie? If you are you in fact gave me the advice a few years back on the heater if I remember rightly. Good stuff

Nope, not me. So far the heater and inkbird are working perfectly. Two of them would fit really easily if needed, but so far one is all that I need In the 2x4. I have been seriously impressed with inkbird controllers, they work incredibly well, and are a huge bargain.
