The past year I have been using HPS with great success. I use a mix of peat moss and compost that I learned about from autoflower.net. It works just as good if not better than pro-mix. This is all of course opinion, but it’s worked well for me.
I decided not to grow unless I could control as much of the environment as I could. Also needed to get reputable seeds. I chose to grow room it and ordered seeds from MNSL, Seedsmen, and ILGM. I’ve had success with Mylar grow tents, but I’m a big guy so I needed more room. Built a 7x7 grow room with an A/C and heat with plug in thermostats, fans, and exhausts.
