One thing to keep in mind when you're using coco... It's basically the middle ground between soil and hydro. How you treat it will show in your yield.
For example: Girls on left were watered like a soil grow.
The shrub in back was treated like a hydro grow.

I'm currently experimenting with the Rice Hulls. They are superior to Perlite.
1. They have a structure that ensures less impediment to the Roots compared to Perlite.
2. They are Cheaper than Perlite
3. They are Organic
4. They hold 12% to 15% more Air than Perlite
5. They are very rich in Silica as they breakdown.
The trouble with the release of Silica is they take much longer than the grow time to break down, depending on Microbial activity. I plan on putting the Hulls in the oven at 200 C for an hour as an aging process to facilitate an earlier decomposition.
Even without this process they are better to use when compared to perlite

Not sure why you would use soil with Coco, that just stuffs up the CEC ratio and makes it very difficult to get the right PH & Nutrient Balance.
Next time ditch the soil and use Worm Casting's instead and your Plant might get close to the massive stems,size,color,health of mine...lol

Coco dries to quick. I got a life outside the tent. I used the same stuff and got a 5ft tall ROG a lot of size is in genetics and grower. Medium plays a very small role but an important one.

I get where you are coming from...I work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off and have an Automatic Watering system for that reason...It's a small Pump that delivers about 2 Liters a minute and it feeds into a feeder ring with 3 outlets...I guess you could call that a Dripper system as well, but it operates in a way that is very close to hand watering.
And you are right about the Coco drying out especially in Peak flower...My Plant is Week 6 now and it really needs feeding 2.5 times a day, so it's better to feed 3 times than 2 and this is not practical for most people, so a Dripper system works very well if it has good flow

I tried to use EWC twice with coco and never did like it. Its screws up the drainage. I use autopots so my medium is in standing water for part of the grow. I think I got bugs from it too. I prefer coco with hydroton. And RO zero ppm water. And then I add in the necessary nutrients and bennies to that. Simple. Works great. I use Canna bricks. No need to rinse. But I do charge/prime it when hydrating the bricks.

Dude is this a joke?. Your very first post says "never use drip systems". Now you openly admit you use one yourself?! Your attitude towards others and completely false information makes your "Secrets" not so important. I harvest more plants in Coco per week than most people do in 6 months. You can use Coco in many different ways. You seem to think you know more about growing in Coco than you really do and just want to puff your chest about having big plants. Big deal, I can grow a massive plant in 1/2 gal pot of Coco and yield extremely well. If people take your advice and feed 1.8 EC, they will most likely have some crispy critters. Especially if you are feeding 3x per day. And Canna Coco has declined from great Coco to GOOD Coco. I quit using it years ago when plastic bottles, rocks, and free Spring Tails. Most bugs come from your MEDIUM that you buy. Keeping a clean room will help decrease chances of infestation. And you think you know about CEC, but you clearly don't. Telling people you don't know why they would mix Coco with soil or peat? More than one way to skin a cat and maybe they use completely different nutes and watering methods? I'm glad you have your own way of doing things. But your way is only best for you. It is far from a complete guide and readers should know this. Good luck.

Well I'm no coco expert I didn't ph ever an I mixed a bunch of organic amendments to my coco an made it living I didn't use any bottle feeds an made my own simple teas.An every single plant auto an photo was out of this world loud .Taste terpene high every thing great .Every coco grower I ran into told me I was a fool an it wouldn't work ironically I believe what I try an not what I hear I learn from experience an organic living coco was a super rad one I'm itching to try that again what a blast .

I don't call and automatic watering system a dripper system....If it flows its fine if it drips it's not, it no more complicated than that really
Canna is fine, well here in Australia it is anyway, as I mentioned I've tested it myself.
My comments obviously need further explanation. Adding soil to Coco is just stupid, this is making an assumption Coco being the main medium of 70% or more.
Adding Coco to Soil is another thing, this would assume Soil being 70% or more and adding Coco is great for airating the Soil.
Coco is great to add to any mix, just not so much the other way around. Hope that clears up anything I've said that seems to be getting twisted

You stated never use a drip system. Why not? A pump using Halo rings is just a quicker delivery. Blumats are a gravity fed drip system that work well in Coco. You will don't need 20% runoff . Autopots are gravity fed and bottom fed, meaning you get 0% runoff. Sometimes I use Drip Stakes with a small pump on my small pots. I feed hourly. My plants thrive. Plants in Coco love to be fed often. Also, 1.8 EC for anyone using RO is high. You have a "Range" and your range is high at each level for most people. I will agree that adding Soil to Coco is pointless if you are feeding nutes.
