Indoor Growing Scrog

Everyday when I check the tent. Crowded canopy and maintenance to do. Undecided on letting the roots go or trimming them at the edge.

FWIW, on some previous grows I let the roots grow into the reservoir, and on some I trimmed them back. I really don't know if there was any difference in the end. A downside of letting them grow was an occasional clog-up in the pump. One time bad it was bad enough that the pump was unable to push at all. I noticed the problem, thankfully, because the pump was whining pretty loud.

Good point Corum. I should have mentioned that I've switched from GH FloraNova nutrients to Vivosun 3 part liquid, and also using Jack's 321 dry nutrients. Both of these are basically clear when dissolved in the RO water. I made the switch because I got tired of dealing with the messiness of the FloraNova nutes. Also, I tried drilling holes in the tubing first, but still had to use a tip of the trimming scissors to get the remnants of the tubing chuff out of the holes. In the end, piercing and twisting a lot with the scissors did the trick. I also used a piece of wire long enough to go all the way through the length of the tubing, and thick enough to fill it, to push the rest of the chuff out.
sounds like you have it all sorted...the hot end of a soldering iron is usefull too, for holes in all sorts of tubs, grow bags, pipes etc.

Clogging the pump is what I'm worried about. My inlet is a 90 elbow facing the bottom and has a cover but roots could get in there. The original inlet had some foam that I'm thinking about fitting for the new one

I have not had a pump block (Thank the gods)...more by luck than design I think. I will though add that to my "what to look out for" list, when i start up again... probably toward the end of this year, maybe.... possibly..... circumstances allowing.

Hello first post here!
Been lurking/studying this thread and similar ones for about 3 months now and I want to share the results with my first ever grow.
These are photoperiod but Ive got a SOG/SCROG style grow in a 4x2 tent with 9 plants (possibly less with 5 of them being regular) in 2 gal pots planted in 60/40 coco/perlite. Used the coat hanger method and managed to get here now at week 5 Veg ready to flip!
Thank you 420AutoFlower for the immense amount of info on this forum.

Welcome. Good looking plants. Whats your plan with these ladies? Whatever it is that tent is going to be packed.

Going to flip within the next day or two and I am aiming at scrogging and potentially supercropping as needed around day 10 of stretch? Was hoping to get some suggestions as well!

My suggestion would be to start thinking about more grow space. You could fill that tent with 2 bigger plants. I have 3 plants growing and canopies are roughly 24", 32", and 36" diameters. The 24" is small because I lost half the plant during supercrop.

Growing in my apartment so space is limited unfortunately. I plan on culling at least 2 or 3 more and end up with around 6 total.

6 is still a lot for a 2x4. You might consider the sog or normal scrog. I can't remember how many plants 420 gets in a 2x4 but I can't imagine you get more than 3 plants if doing the full 420auto method.
