It was the only clover seed that tractor supply had in stock. They had some pure red clover in the “deer season display” but wanted 50$ for a 5 lb bag......wasn’t paying the upped price as it was the same red in the bag I bought.

This is great, any updates? I have started a couple large hugelkulters but never got around to finishing them. The wood piles are about rotten on their own now! I just gonna turn it all in this winter I think. But aside from that, I have written papers on the subject. It's a fascinating little hole in soil science. The amount of carbon that could be sequestered by hugelkulter techniques scaled up in places where they do slash and burn agriculture would make a huge difference to climate change.
example:
Brazil could take 2/3 of the wood from the amazon they usually burn for grazing and cattle food production per year. Apply hugelkulters instead, sequester some huge number like 50 *10 to the ninth tons of carbon in the ground annually instead of the atmosphere. Have plenty of room to graze alongside sustainable perrenial beds, for sugar cane, grains, whatever. As long as the cattle dont wanna eat it.
