What kind of spectrum does your main light have, if its got 10% ir and far red you should be ok. If not you can run red lights throughout the entire grow.

If you can turn them off and on separately, off thru the vegetative period and on when your hitting the stretch phase of early flower. Run them till cut.
For autos it’s more of an energy consumption issue. Photos it can cause issue with plant height and stretching. No issue with autos having it on 24-7 other than power.
