Second, given that the plant is not quite ready for sleepytime duty which is what I need, WTF do I do about it. My temptation is to chop the offending bud carefully and continue on. These are not the only ones, nor the only cola. :cuss::cuss::cuss:

How long do you normally wait to put your seedings over the water?
Before the tap root shows out of the starting cube so you do not risk bumping it. I used to just start them in the net pot with the starter cube held in place by PH balanced clay pebbles -Hydroton. I had a pump that ran water near the starter cube to encourage the roots to get down into the reservoir.
