I have yet to cook a corned beef that didn't end up tough and stringy, like trying to eat paracord..... So I broke down and stopped at the deli and bought a pound of Boars Head corned beef! At least that can be eaten! LOL
LOL! I like a flat cut and I cut cross-grain. I've always seemed to have pretty good luck with mine. Mom loved mine. GrandMa made it, but Mom never did. GrandMa always made it in a huge pot. She'd add her cabbage at the end, so the meat n taters would get that cabbage flavor.
