Before wabbits...I used to grow peas and broad beans in alternate wide rows..the broad beans are upright and strong...so the peas clung to them...saved putting a frame up..... :headbang:
Ya i would plant em about a foot back from my chain link fence, trim anything that came out the 3 sides not towards the fence and end up with a wall of em on the one side of the garden.
