Extraction Not high from edibles???

Edibles work great in getting me high, they just take longer to kick in, but the effect last four times longer. I make my own edibles but have no clue as to my dosing.

Bought some recreational dispensary edibles yesterday and because of excess smoking my own weed for the last year I decided to take a break and give my lungs a rest. So far, the commercial edibles have been as effective as my own edibles though I have over indulged.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this? I grow some amazing weed that knocks my socks off when I smoke it. When I use the same weed and doing everything correctly to make butter, coconut oil, tinctures you name it I feel like it doesn’t get me high?? Is it that edibles just don’t affect some people as much as others? Thanks

I got 2 friends this way. I've made super strong butter. Butter than makes your heart blink and breathing go to manual pilot. Been friends for over a decade. This shit dont even work for them. I've made stuff just to get them fucked up and cant. When my friends,either one, eats psychedelics it takes alot. My buddy won't eat mushrooms unless it's a half ounce and a gram of same stuff will be enough for me..strange.

Look into green dragon tincture.. it's easy and I bet it works.it did work for one of my buddies. Now the other hasn't tried it yet.

Yesterday I made Rice Krispies treats with cannaoil made with virgin coconut oil. First time making them and went light on the amount of oil. I used some butter but next time will double the dose. Cannabutter would work better but the ones I made taste good. No noticeable cannabis flavor at all.

I really enjoy making edibles. I brownies, cupcakes, Rice Krispies, cookies and pretty much any snake that I can make at home. I even have I fused wine but using an entirely different technique.
First decarbing my source material. Then a qwet. Next use your favorite evaporation method. Depending on the consistency, I may place it in the oven at 170-220 f attempting to remove the remaining ethanol and water vapor. Some will get rock hard so I guess about 80% thc? while boiling off on the stove top... “highly not recommended!” I have a radiant stove and plenty of air flow.
Some will pick up more lips and chlorophyll and have a solid but gooey texture. About 60% Thc. If it’s runny, usually the case of too much chlorophyll, I recommend letting it cool then reheating in the oven. Some will not get hard. Lol.
I take my final product and calculate it by doses of my edible.
For instance my cupcake are 2 ounces. So i get 15-16 cupcakes from a cake mix. 16 cakes x 15 mg of thc = 240 mg of thc total. So now calculating the consistency of my qwet. Let’s use 66 percent. So a gram will have 660 milligrams of thc. I only need 240 mg for my cupcakes. 240/660 = .36 of a gram. In most cases I provide .4 of a gram to the correct amount of butter(oil) that the recipe calls for. I assure you that these cakes are memorable. The sweet potato pies are a holiday favorite. I don’t really like doing the cookies because you have micro dose them. People will definitely eat too many cookies.
A word of warning. Using this technique will remove the weedy, grassy taste. People often forget that they are eating an edible an in most cases over indulge.
Edibles are dependent on source material. If you concentrate a not so good strain to make (oil) Then un-concentrate the oil into an edible, for sure you will have questionable results.

Has anyone having problems getting high from edibles tried using Soy or Sunflower Lecithin, it is supposed to be increasing the absorption rate a lot.

You'd sure get high from my chocolates! Especially this last batch!

Dosing isn't too hard to calculate.
Keep track of herb, and assume it's about 16% thc, which is 160 mg thc per gram flower.

Here's an example calculation that assumes using 3 g herb to make 12 cookies.
Total thc = 3*160 mg = 480 mg
1 cookie = (480 mg)/12 = 40 mg

Without doing this it's difficult to compare strain potencies, or recipe efficiencies.

If you are buying your edibles at the dispensary you can always buy RSO in a syringe. I make FECO myself but started with RSO from the dispensary. It is cheaper, decarbed and you know how much THC is in it.

That’s the best way. Edibles can be a nightmare of they are too potent. I have seen some sleep for 3 days or be awake for 3 days after eating an edible.
