New Grower Roots coming out bottom of Airpots

I thought that "air pruning" would have prevented this. The pots are sitting directly on the tent floor, no saucers, no standing water. Is this normal? I have been feeding 16 oz twice per day with little if any runoff from these 5.5 gal pots. No roots from holes on sides. 32 days from seeds breaking soil.
