Hey fellow growers.

Was out in the greenhouse today doing some prep work for my 2014 GG.
Noticed one of my Erdpurt's is a trifoliate, ( technical term is Polyploid I think ) anyway I noticed when she first popped out the ground that it had 3 Cotlydons but now it has grown a little the first true leaves are also trifoliate.

O'K, I know that being trifoliate is not unusual in MJ but, I just wanted to hear from other growers/breeders what they think of breeding this as a trait, I was thinking of crossing it with a Lowryder Diesel Ryder and working this trait into being auto.

I have seen on other forums that one grower had quadfoliate and trifoliate( not sure if that is the right terminology but it had 4 cotlydons/leaves ) seedling that he successfully bred and the resulting offspring were also quadfoliate/trifoliate.

I am hoping that my erdpurt will continue to be trifoliate on the side branches as well as the main stem.

I would like to hear from anyone who is/has done MJ breeding for your opinions and views on this idea.
Or any other input and ideas would be appreciated.

My seeds have had no treatment with colchicine or other chemicals and are growing in Coco.

Thanks in anticipation.

OSB.

The first question you gotta ask is, is the strain/trait even worth the effort of breeding it? If yes then I say go for it. The only problems would be if the "mutation" causes sterility in this or future generations or the trait is recessive and would require multiple generations and bx to stabilize.
